Thanks for owl you do!

Just a quick little thank you card. I used the Give a Hoot cart, and papers from the DCWV green paper stack. The sentiment was from Stampin' Up!

Been a while since I made a birthday card

I have a couple of birthdays coming up, so I figured I would try the whole planning ahead thing. I am generally a big fan of the procrastination thing, but thought it might be fun to do something new :)

I used papers from the DCWV magnolia stack for this card. Embossed the top scallop with the swiss dots cuttlebug embossing folder, and then sanded the cardstock. The scallops are from Cindy Loo, and the phrase and present are from Sweet Treats. I inked the edges with some Versamagic.

Using up my buttons

I have to say, I really ended up pleased with this card. I have been seeing a lot of layouts in magazines lately with trees using buttons for the fruit of the tree (or blossoms or whatever). I really wanted to try it on a card, so I did a search on my gypsy to find which of my cards had trees. I ended up picking this image from Stretch Your Imagination. I liked it because it is a taller tree and not so wide. (I wanted to be able to see the pretty scroll in the patterned paper)

The pp is from a Prima stack I found on clearance at Michael's. The buttons are from Autumn Leaves Savannah collection, and the base cardstock and the stamp are from Stampin' Up! Everything was inked with Distress Inks from Tim Holtz and Ranger.

Too hot for posting :)

Yesterday was the last straw for me. It was so hot, and I was so tired of my home without air, that I packed up my kids and drove down to stay with my parents (who have ac and a community pool) so no posts got done yesterday.

But thanks to a nice couple of storms, we are all back and making fun things with the cricut again! This uses the Cindy Loo cart, and papers from the Mediterranean Stack by DCWV. The stampe is from Stampin' Up's whimsical words set.

Cow card

This was just a for fun card. I wanted to try making a card out of a shape with the welding feature on my gypsy. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was (thanks to all the super tutorials on youtube!)

I used the Create-a-Critter cartridge for this shape, and used the Very Punny stamp set from Stampin' Up! for the sentiment.

Squirrel!

My kids are crazy about squirrel since they saw the movie 'Up'. So the entire time I was making this one, people were yelling 'squirrel!'. We are a strange bunch :)

More paper from the K&Co. green paper pad. Used some Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, and Old Olive cardstock from Stampin' Up! as well. The squirrel was made out of various brown scraps, and is from the Give a Hoot cart.

Get well card

I really need to get one of those cute pun stamp sets that I am seeing from the bloggers that I love! I made this into a Get Well card, mostly because I don't have many of those kind of cards. What I really wanted was a stamp like 'To a fungi' (get it fungi = fun guy?) or something else cute about mushrooms. :)

I used more paper from the DCWV green stack (really love this paper stack) and put it all on a Georgia Pacific white cardstock base. The stamp and punches were all Stampin Up. The mushroom was from the Cindy Loo cart.

Still playing with my new heat setting tool :) I'm enjoying adding sparkle to all my cards! The patterned paper is from K & Co paper pad 'Wild Raspberry'. I used one of the SU exclusive embossing plates in the Sizzix and an owl from the 'Give a Hoot' cartridge. (Never got to use it before my machine broke so I have been making up for lost time) :)

Thanks for looking, and Happy 4th!

Going away card

I think I may be finally back! So my new cricut was supposed to come a few weeks ago, but when it got here the replacement was broken right out of the box. Another new one was supposed to be sent out express, but a week later I found out it had never shipped out. So a whole lot of frustration later, I finally have my new Create and it seems to be working so far. I am getting a free mini monsters cart out of all this frustration, but I have to admit that I am still waiting for something else to go wrong :(

We had a going away get together for my friend Karen who is moving, and this was the card I made for her. The patterned paper is from K & Company and is from their green stack (I don't know what it is about the 'green' papers but the stack from DCWV is one of my favorites too) Also got a new Tulip heat setting tool from M's with a coupon this week (it is exactly like the i-rock tool but red) and had a lot of fun adding iron on rhinestones to the card!
