Canceling technique class

Hey Everybody,

I'm very sorry about this, but due to some health issues I have been having this fall, I need to cut back on some of my workload. I am canceling technique classes at the Bethany Methodist Church until further notice. I will let everybody know when I can start that up again though.

Thanks everybody for your understanding!

October Promotions!

Hi Everybody,

Well, I'm not sure if Stampin' Up!s website is having problems, or if it is just me but I can't seem to get onto the site the last day or so. So, I am going to let everybody know the promotions I remember.

For all you ladies hosting a workshop this month, you will be able to choose any stamp set in the catalog sampler brochure for FREE when you have a party with $350 in sales! I believe that this promotion runs until the end of November, but I will check on it and let you all know.

This month marks Stampin' Up!'s 20th Birthday so we are giving 20% off selected birthday stamp sets this month!

There is also a special on our aquapainters. You can get one large tip aquapainter for $8.50 this month while supplies last. This is e perfect opportunity to try out the aquapainter for watercoloring on your cards!

I still have three spots open for this weekend's Stamp-a-Stack, so please let me know ASAP if you would like to reserve a spot. Cost for the class is $30 and there will be light refreshments served and lots of fun making cards!

Thanks everybody!

October Events!

Hi Everybody!

So I wanted to post quickly just to remind everybody of the events coming up this month.

October's Stamp-a-Stack will be on the fourth (this coming Saturday) from 11am unti around 3pm or whenever you get finished. I have pictures posted of the projects we'll be making in an earlier post, so scroll down a bit to see them! The cost for the event will be $25. I have room for eight people, and have 4 RSVPs so far, so please let me know if you are interested in attending! I will have a raffle for a retired stamp set gift set for everyone in honor of World Card Making Day this weekend. You don't need to be present to win, just make sure you get your orders in by Sunday evening to get your name in the raffle. Every $50 ordered will get you one raffle entry.

This month's technique class will deal with using chipboard on our projects, and will take place on October 30th at Bethany United Methodist Church at 7pm. Please RSVP by October 27th so that I can have supplies cut for you.

There are quite a few promotions in October as well, and I will be trying to post them as the day goes on. So keep watching out for ys to save on your stamps and accessories!

Hi Everybody,

It's been a hectic few weeks, so bear with me :) These are the samples that we'll be making at the October 4th Stamp-a-Stack. We'll make three of each card, and the price will be $30 for each person. Anyone who prepays by October 1st will pay only $25 for the event!

Please RSVP by October 1st so that I can have supplies cut for you. I will be emailing everyone on my mailing list with more particulars about the day, and with some of the events that are upcoming. If you would like to be on my email list, please contact me at

If you haven't been receiving emails from me each month about upcoming events, please let me know, so I can look into that for you, as well.

BIG NEWS - Online Ordering!

Hey everybody!

I can't tell you how excited I am about this news! You can now order your Stampin' Up! merchandise from me on my website :) So anytime you want to place an order, you can do so. No need to wait for a workshop. Your online order will give you hostess benefits if you spend $150 or above.

So all you need to do to place an order is to go to my website and click in the upper right hand corner on 'shop now'. You'll want to make sure you order through my website, and not from the regular stampin' up site though, because the prices through my website are the same prices you see in your catalog. Ordering through the Stampin' Up! website is more expensive (everything has an additional 10% cost tacked onto it).

So click on the logo at the side of this blog to go to my website, or type in my web address directly. It is:

Thanks everybody!

Stamp-a-Stack on Sunday, the 7th

Hey Everybody,

Just wanted to post a picture of the cards we'll be making this month. We will be making three each of these four designs. The cost is $30, but if you are prepaid for the event by Friday, I will take $5 off the cost of the event.

We will be doing another raffle for a level three hostess set this month. Every $50 in merchandise ordered will get you one entry into the raffle, and this is good for both people attending for the day, and for anyone who just wants to place an order this weekend!

We will be starting at 1pm on Sunday and will go until we are done, or until you are ready to leave :) Please RSVP by Friday if you would like to attend, so that I can have supplies cut for you!

Ok, so unless my computer is just screwed up, I can't see my last post with the dimensions for the 'Waterfall Card' project that we learned at technique class last week. If you all can see the last post, then please forgive me for posting it again. Otherwise, here are the directions and measurments for the card:

Waterfall Card

Cut neutral colored cardstock in the following measurements: 1 7/8" x 1 7/8" (4). Cut Colored Cardstock in the following measurements: 2" x 2"(4), 9" x 2"(1), ¾" x 4" (1).

Stamp images on the 4 neutral squares of cardstock and mat them with the 2X2 colored cardstock squares.

Score your 9 x 2 strip of colored cardstock. Starting at end of strip, score 2",2¾", 3½", and 4¼" from the end.

Attach the small strip of paper to the card with brads or eyelets. Do not use adhesive in the middle of piece.

Next, attach long scored piece to the horizontal strip you just attached to the card front. To do this, slide the longest section scored piece between the horizontal strip and the card, making sure to center it in the middle of your card. Line up the very edge of the scored end of piece A with bottom of the horizontal strip and attach with adhesive.

Attach your first stamped image to the bottom 2" x 2" space at the scored end of long strip. Apply adhesive to the scored sections of long piece, and attach.

On to the Next Thing :)

Hi Everybody,

I just want to thank everyone for making this past weekend such a success! I had a lot of fun working with the ladies attending the Stamp-a-Stack, and visiting with the ladies attending the Open House!

I wanted to let everyone know that I am forming a stamping club in the Johnstown area. The club is open to anyone who would like to join. Each person in the club takes a turn being the hostess and earning free stamps and merchandise. Each member will pledge to spend $25 each month (including months when they may not be able to attend) in an order, and each month we will meet and make great projects!

I've had a lot of response already, and I want to thank everybody for their enthusiasm for the new club. If you have any questions, or would like to join, please contact me. We are hoping to start the club in September.

If you have already contacted me, I will be sending out emails with more details about the club and what it entails, and trying to set up a day to meet.

This month we will be starting up the technique classes again. We will meet on the last Thursday of each month at the Bethany United Methodist Church in Richland. Anyone can attend, and the cost is $5.00 (waived with a $25 order placed at the class) This month we will be making a waterfall card (which is an interactive card). We will meet for class on Thursday, the 28th at 7pm. Please RSVP to me if you would like to attend by Tuesday the 26th so that I can have materials cut for you.

And last but not least, I wanted to announce the winner of the big raffle from the Open House! Kathy Bortz was our big winner, and she will be able to pick out any level three hostess set from the new catalog! I will have another raffle at the next SAS which is scheduled for Sunday, September 7th. More details about that will be upcoming so be watching here!

Thanks, everybody!

Last of the pictures!

Stamp-A-Stack Pictures

Hi Everybody,

Just wanted to post pictures of the projects we'll be making at the SAS on the 17th. There are spots available, so please contact me if you'd like to attend. Anyone that prepays by the 14th will pay only $25 for the event. Anyone paying after that date will pay $30.

We'll be doing something a little different this time. We'll be making two each of six different cards, and I've attached pictures of all of them in this posting.

Also, I have added more retired stamp sets to my earlier blog post that I will have for sale at the event. If you want me to hold something specific aside for you, please contact me and let me know. I'll also have retired patterned papers and cardstock sticker sheets on sale for $.25 a sheet, and I'll have assortments of ribbons and hardware for sale.

There will be light refreshments, and of course, the new catalog so please stop by at any time to peruse the catalog or to place an order to receive your catalog for free! See my earlier posts for more details about my raffle giveaway for a level three hostess set from the new catalog.

Thanks everybody!

News from Stampin' Up!

Hi everybody,

This week has been the national conference for Stampin' Up! so all sorts of awesome things coming in the new catalog have been announced (and those at convention have gotten a new catalog to look at - lucky ducks!). I couldn't afford to fly out to Utah and attend so I am not getting to see it all for myself, but if you've been on Splitcoast, you know that lots of awesome stuff has been announced! Here are just a few things coming up:

We now have an exclusive deal with Sizzix! We will be selling the big shot die cut machine, and we will have sizzix and sizzlet dies that match and complement our stamp sets! The big shot is compatible with all other dies out there, including Quickutz, Cuttlebug, and Nestabilities (we will even have our own embossing folders in the near future). We'll be selling vinyl and chipboard by the sheet now because you can cut all these (and even acrylic!) with the big shot! I can't tell you how excited I am to start demoing with some of these great products!

We also will have lots more of the decor elements coming in the early fall, and in lots of different colors. Very cute for home decorating or for altering items!

A couple other things I've seen are a new camping set and a wheel with mosquitos on it, some beautiful new background sets, really fun Christmas sets, and a few favorites from last year's mini catalog are back in case you didn't get to purchase them the first time around.

Also, the Tart n Tangy stamp set is back, this time in the main catalog, so be expecting to see that used a lot by me! And there are a lot more of smaller stamp sets of four stamps with that really nice lower price tag!

So be on the lookout for more news from me sometime during the week. I am actually out of town this weekend at a scrapbooking convention in the Philly area, so I won't have a lot of time to update until I get my bearings back on Monday or Tuesday. But if you want to hear all the scoop, just look in the Splitcoast forums under 'convention 2008' and you can get all the dirt!

Thanks everyone!

August 17th Stamp-a-Stack

Hi Everybody

I wanted to post pictures of a few of the cards we'll be making at the New Catalog Open House/Stamp-a-Stack. We will be using brand new sets and accesories from the new catalog, including the new scallop border punch (one of my favorite new things!)

Come anytime between 1pm and 5pm for the Open House to peruse the new catalog or to buy one of your own. You can purchase it for $6, or you can get it free with a $50 order (before taxes and shipping). I will have some retired products for sale as well at discounted prices, so come and shop or just come to enjoy the food and conversation!

Anybody wanting to come for the Stamp-a-Stack can come and stamp the day away. The price is $30 for the day, or $25 if you prepay for the event. If you need any more details, please see my earlier posts on the blog or contact me for more details or with questions.

Thanks everybody!

Selling my Retired Stamp Sets

Hi Everybody,

Every six months, Stampin' Up! releases a list of stamp sets that will retire at the end of the current catalog period. That means two things to me. It means that I will no longer be able to demonstrate those stamp sets to you, and it means that there will be a whole new catalog of stamps coming that I CAN demonstrate, once I purchase them.

So, with each retirement, I try to offset some of the cost of getting new stamp sets by selling retired sets (this also ensures that I will have some room for all those new stamp sets) ;)

So, along with all the other fun events going on at my Open House Stamp-a-Stack, I will be having a sale of all the retired stamp sets I own. All of the sets will be 40% off of the catalog price.

I do take requests for specific stamp sets, so if there is one that you definitely want to purchase from me, I will hold it for you. So, here is my list of the stamp sets I have available for sale and their prices. Please only contact me about a stamp set if you are prepared to buy the set after August 10th (when the stamps will officially retire).

Thanks everybody!

Stamp Set Price after 40% off

Heavenly Peace $12.00
City of David $13.50
Stem Silhouettes (winter mini) $19.50
Tags for All (winter mini) $18.50
Weathered background $11.00
Polka Dots and Paisley $11.50
Eat Cake $15.50
It's Your Birtday $18.50

Retired Accessories List is Here!

Hi Everybody,

So, first off, I want to apologize because I know these lists are hard to read through. I wish I was computer literate enough to make them into some easy to read graph or something, but I don't know how to do that.

So here is a listing of the items retiring. These are available on an as supplies last basis. Already we are out of the hodgepodge hardware in the pewter finish, and the pomegranate and bayou double stitched ribbons. A few of the Simply Sent kits are sold out as well. But don't worry, the stamp sets that are retiring can be ordered all the way up to August 10th. No worries that they will sell out. But stamp around wheels will sell out fast, so don't delay in ordering those!

You don't have to come to the SAS to be eligible to win, just email or call with your order by Monday, the 9th to be entered.

RSVPs for the SAS are due by Thursday, May 5th. Please contact me if you are planning on attending, so I can make up a packet of materials for you. I have one other card design (along with the two above and the card pictured in an earlier post) that we will make and will try to post it tomorrow!

June 8th - Next Stamp-a-Stack!

Hi everybody!

I just wanted to pop in and post a picture of one of the cards we will be making at next month's SAS. We will be back to making our usual 12 cards. We will start Sunday, June 8th at 1pm and will go until you want to leave :)

The cost will be $30, and everyone who prepays by the 5th will pay only $25. RSVPs are due by the 5th of June so that I can have all your materials cut for you.

For every $50 in merchandise ordered during the weekend (whether you attend the SAS or not) I will give you one raffle entry for a level three hostess stamp set. This time the winner will have a choice between the 'Older and Wiser' set or the 'Time Well Spent' set.

Thanks everyone!

Winner of Our Raffle Drawing!

Hey everybody!

I wanted to thank everybody who came out to the Stamp-a-Stack and everybody who placed orders! I had a lot of fun, and I hope that you all did too! The next SAS is scheduled for June 8th, and we'll be having another level three hostess drawing along with making a stack of cards, and having a lot of fun!

Congratulations to Jen Vogel for winning the raffle this time! My son told me that the raffle is his favorite part, because he always gets to pick the winner :)

So watch for more info about the June Stamp-a-Stack to come, and hopefully I'll see some of you there on Sunday, the 8th :)

Thanks everybody!

More pictures from the May Stamp-a-Stack!

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to remind everyone that RSVPs need to be in by May 1st (Thursday) to reserve a spot for the SAS this weekend. If you want to prepay for the reduced price, payment is due on the 1st as well.

I have a few more pictures of the finished projects that we'll be making this weekend. We have a more masculine card (because I know a few of you have been asking for them) that you can use for birthday, Father's Day, or anything. I have included pictures of two ways you can make this card (either horizontal or vertical) and you'll be able to choose a birthday sentiment, father's day, the 'wanted' sentiment, or you could leave it blank. The other card can be for any occasion as well, and I will have an assortment of sayings to use on it.

We'll be making two of the masculine card, three of the 'priceless' card, three of the feminine card, and five mini cards with a little box to put them in. For pictures of the last two, look at my previous posts.

So, please contact me if you have any questions, or if you would like to RSVP. Remember, you don't need to be present at the SAS to be eligible for the free level three stamp set raffle. Just contact me with your orders by Monday, the 5th and you will get one entry for every $50 in merchandise you order (before tax and shipping).

Thanks everybody!

More pictures from the Stamp-a-Stack!

Well, I wanted to post some pictures of the projects we'll be doing at the SAS on May 4th.

We'll be doing three of the Mother's Day card. For those people who don't need Mother's Day cards, I have included a sample of a card you could make. Exactly the same, except it uses a different sentiment. So I have plenty of options for you to make a card that you will use!

Earlier, I posted a picture of five 3X3 cards we'll make using the Picnic designer papers, and using the tart n tangy stamp set. Now, I'm posting a picture of the box we'll make to hold those five cards and their envelopes.

We'll also be making a few more styles of cards, and I'll be posting them soon. Please contact me if you'd like to RSVP for this event, and see my earlier blog posts for more information!

Technique Class - finally!

Hi everybody,

Everybody is finally well here, and so we will be starting up technique classes again. Because we haven't met for so long, we'll be learning two techniques this month. Class will be at 7pm on Tuesday, the 29th. We'll be learning various techniques using beads, and also using glitter. Everyone will get two tags with instructions, and we'll all be making two cards. I have pictures of the cards we'll be making posted above. The cost will be $5, but the fee will be waived with a $15 order. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to me by Sunday the 27th so I can have materials prepared for you.

Also remember that the May SAS is coming up on Sunday, May 4th. I'll be posting more pictures of the projects we'll be making as I can photograph them. If you saw the earlier post with the pictures of the 3X3 cards, we are also making a cute little box to hold those cards (and envelopes will be provided for them as well). Hope to see lots of you there!

May Stamp-a-Stack pictures

Hi everybody,

Hope everybody is enjoying the weather as much as I am!

My next Stamp-a-Stack is going to be Sunday, May 4th at 1pm. The cost is $30, but anybody that prepays for the day by April 30th will get $5 off the cost. We will be doing some different things this time. We'll be making some cute little 3X3 cards using some new patterned papers from the Spring mini with the Tart n Tangy set also from the Spring mini. And of course, we'll also be making some standard sized cards as well!

I'll be raffling off another level three hostess set for the weekend, and this time the set will be the 'Time Well Spent' set. For every $50 ordered, you will receive one entry into the raffle. You don't need to attend the SAS to win, just make sure I get your order by May 5th.

I will post more pictures of the projects in days to come, so be sure to check back. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me, and have a great weekend everybody!

One illness after another!

Hi everybody!

Just wanted to post quickly to let you all know that I had to cancel my technique class for tomorrow night. I hate to do this twice in a row, but this time the flu has hit me. We'll do the same class (beading and glitter) the last Tuesday of April, which is the 29th.

I'm really sorry about this everybody. I promise if Spring ever comes, I will be healthier :)

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to let everybody know that sale-a-bration is coming to an end this coming Monday, March the 17th. I'll be able to place orders for the promotion until midnight on Monday, and then this fun promo will go away until next year.

I know lots of you have stocked up during this sale (I have been too!) but in case anybody hasn't had an opportunity, or has remembered something they want to get before the offer is gone, please contact me this weekend!

For anyone that isn't familiar with the promotion, for every $50 order that you place before shipping and taxes, you'll get a free item from our sale-a-bration mini catalog. One of the sets available for free was used to make this card.

Also, Stampin' Up! has announced their April promotion for hostesses! Anybody hosting a workshop from March 18th - April 30th, can get an extra $25 in free merchandise! Every hostess that gets at least $350 in sales during this promo will get all the usual benefits, plus an extra $25 to be used on anything in the catalog or the new occasions mini catalog! I have lots of dates available in April, so please contact me if you'd be interested in hosting a workshop!

Thanks everybody!

I just wanted to thank everybody who came to the Stamp-a-Stack, and who placed orders this weekend to participate in the raffle! This time I had the most entries ever :) I hope everybody had fun this weekend, and I look forward to doing it again!

The winner was Melissa Holbrook! So she'll be getting the 'Older and Wiser' level three hostess set with her order when it arrives.

My next Stamp-a-Stack will be sometime in May, and I'll have another level three set to auction off. More details will come as I figure them out myself :)

I just want to thank all of you again. I couldn't do what I do without everyone of you, and my family and I really appreciate your business and your friendship!

Raffle Prize

Just a reminder, I am placing the Stamp-a-Stack order on Monday the 10th, so for anyone not able to join us on the 9th but that wants to place an order, make sure to contact me by then.

Anybody who places a $50 order (before taxes and shipping) this weekend will get their choice of sale-a-bration sets from the mini catalog, and will also get one entry for the level three hostess set I'm giving away! There is no limit to how many sale-a-bration sets or raffle entries you can earn (so for $100 you would get two free sets and two entries, etc...) I meant to post a picture of it long before now, but kept forgetting. It is called 'Older and Wiser' and is from the current catalog, so for better detail check out your catalogs. It is usually only available to a hostess whose workshop reaches $500 in sales, so it is one of the more limited stamp sets.

I do still have a few seats available for the Stamp-a-Stack, but the deadline to RSVP is tomorrow, so please contact me if you are interested in attending. Have a good week everybody!

Loving Our New Beads

When my friend, Tracey, told me that she wanted to have a workshop using our new beads, I was a little nervous. I've made things with our microbeads, but the colored beads were a new item that I hadn't played with.

Now that I've worked with them, I can say that I am hooked! I enjoyed working with them so much, that I ordered all the other colors on my next order. The sticky strip is strong enough to hold the micro and the larger beads, and the new Mono adhesive we sell is what I used to make the bead centers for the flower punches. My favorite new technique might be using staples with beads threaded on them. Once I played with them, it really was alot easier to do than I would have imagined.

Everyone should have received an email about the February technique class being postponed. March 25th we will have our next technique class, and we will focus on the ways to use glitter, and we will be working with our mini and micro beads as well. The price will be the usual $5 but everyone will receive two technique tags, and we'll basically have two classes for the price of one! Hope to see you all there!
