Spring/Summer 2008 Catalogs Are Here!

Hey everybody!

In the midst of all of the chaotic holiday packages arriving to my home, I received today forty of the brand new Spring/Summer 2008 catalogs! Hooray for UPS :)

As always, I am selling the catalogs for $6 (usual retail is $9.95), and the catalogs are free to anyone who hosts a workshop.

January 12th, I will be having a stamp-a-stack event, featuring some of the new stamp sets from the Spring/Summer catalog. The event will start at 11am on Saturday, and will end whenever you are ready to leave :) The cost will be $25 for anyone pre-paying for the event by January 7th (cost for anyone paying after the 7th will be $30) and we will be making 12 cards. Anybody who orders $50 or more at the event (before taxes and shipping) will get a brand new catalog for free! Of course, if you are dying to see the catalog, you can purchase one for $6 before the event, and I will give you those six dollars back if you place a $50 order during the workshop.

If you can't attend the stamp-a-stack, I can still take your order and you will still be able to take advantage of the free catalog offer. I will place an order on Sunday evening (the 13th) so just contact me with your order by then!

In addition, to the free catalog offer, I will also be holding another raffle. For every $50 (before taxes and shipping) order placed, you will get one entry into the raffle. The set I am raffling off is a brand new level three hostess set from the Spring/Summer 2008 catalog called "Time Well Spent".

Please RSVP for the stamp-a-stack by January 7th if you are planning to attend, so I can have your materials cut and ready for you.

Also, sale-a-bration is coming up February 1st - March 17th and I've had many bookings already. Please contact me if you'd like to hold a workshop during this popular sale period, so that I can work your event into the schedule!

Thanks everyone!

The Retired List is Here!

Hi Everybody,

The Retired List has been released, and is available to view on the Stampin' Up! website. You can view the list here

As of December 30th, none of these will be able to be ordered. If you are interested in making a purchase, I will be sending in two orders to Stampin' Up! One on the 10th of December, and one on the 29th of December.

If you make a purchase by the 10th, Stampin' Up! has assured us that the orders will be delivered by Christmas. In celebration of the retirement list, I will be offering 10% off all retired sets! This only applies to orders emailed to me or called in to me, it will not apply to club orders or to workshop orders (due to hostess benefit limitations), and all orders will come in to me, and will need to be picked up at my home (unless you are in a club or plan to attend one of my upcoming workshops, in which case I will bring items to the event if received in time).

There will be a separate retirement listing coming out on the 10th of December, that will include roller stamps, and other accessories, and I will email out that list as soon as I get it! :)

Please contact me in you have any questions, or concerns. And as always, I accept credit cards, checks, paypal, and cash as forms of payment.

Thanks everybody!
Keathe

I'm still here :)

Hey everybody,

I'm still around, don't anybody worry! I've had lots going on with Stampin' Up! and getting ready for the new catalog coming out in January, and the retirement in December, so I've been sort of MIA.

I'm also working on a Stamp-a-Stack coming up on January 15th. We will be making a whole bunch of all occasion cards, and I will have lots of copies of the new catalog available for sale. As always, the catalogs will be $5 at the event, or will be free with a purchase of $50 or more (before shipping and taxes). In the next coming weeks, I will have lots more details available, so please save the date, and I hope to see you there!

For anybody interested in the ribbon swap, we are nearing the end. Spots are still open until Noveber 20th, so please let me know if you are interested and your name isn't listed on the earlier blog posting (and scroll down to that post for more details about the ribbon swap).

My leg is better now, and I am hoping to be able to get some pictures posted soon of the projects we'll be making in upcoming classes and events!

Thanks everyone!

New Promotions for November!

Hey everybody! Sorry I've been MIA lately. I sprained my ankle this past week, and have been taking it easy and trying to recover. I'm off crutches now, but still not completely back in the swing of things, so it might be a while before I can take and post new pictures.

There is a new promotion that I am incredibly excited about for November! If you buy any three sets of our designer papers at $9.95 each, you'll get one set free! There are so many beautiful sets on pages 170-173 of the Winter catalog, as well as a couple of sets available in the mini catalog. With a new retirement rapidly approaching, I am looking forward to using this promo to stock up on all of my favorite double sided paper sets!

We also have a special deal on one of our stamp sets. The 'Wishing You Cheer' stamp set (on page 33 of the Winter catalog) is 20% off until November 3rd - making it $11.16 before shipping and taxes. If anybody is interested in purchasing this set at the discount, please let me know by 7pm November 3rd.

Also remember that the Winter Glitz packages are still available (see my earlier post for details on that special) so please contact me if you are interested in purchasing a kit, as they are available only until supplies are gone.

I have a busy week ahead, but hope to be able to post details about next month's technique class soon, so be looking for that. Thanks everybody!

Spectrum Class Project

As promised, here is one of the projects we will be making at the spectrum pad technique class on the 25th (see my earlier blog post for more details). Hope to see you there!

November Technique Class - Using Spectrum Pads

Hi everybody!

Sorry I am so late in getting this information out to you all. It's been a busy couple of weeks!

This month's technique class will be the various uses of spectrum pads. The class will be held October 25th at 7:00pm. I am hoping to have pictures of the projects we will be making, posted over the weekend. So keep checking for updates. As always, the class cost is $5, but that fee is waived if you make a $25 purchase the night of the class. RSVPs are requested by the 23rd so that I can have your supplies ready for you.

Thanks everybody!

An the winner is...

I ust want to thank everybody who entered the raffle, and everyone that came out to make the Stamp-a-Stack a big success. I had so much fun on Saturday, and I hope that those of you who couldn't attend will be able to join us next time!

The winner of the raffle drawing was Nancy Jones! I had my husband pick the winner from a hat, and I had to laugh when he picked Nancy, because she really had her heart set on winning that Measure of a Life set. So, assuming that Nancy picks that set, this means that the Polka Dot and Paisley set will be up for grabs in a future giveaway.

Congratulations, Nancy. And thanks again everybody for making this weekend so much fun, and so successful!

Weekend Raffle!

Hey everybody!

I have decided to have a raffle this weekend to celebrate the holiday! For every $50 order (before shipping and taxes) that anybody places with me by 7pm on Monday, October 8th, I will enter their name into a drawing for a free stamp set. If you place a $100 order, you would get two entries into the raffle, and so on. The winner will get to choose one of the sets pictured here. Polka Dots & Paisley is a current set in the catalog that retails for $18.95, and Measure of a Life is a retired level two hostess set from last year's catalog.

Please contact me, if you would like to be entered into the raffle, to place an order. I accept personal checks, and credit cards.

World Card Making Day Promotion - Simply Sent Kits!

Tomorrow is World Card Making Day, and in honor of the occasion, Stampin' Up! is having a great deal on their Simply Sent Card Kits. Today through October 8th (Monday) these kits will all be 20% off! The kits make a wonderful gift for someone who is new to stamping, they are a great investment for anyone wanting to make a large number of cards without spending a lot of money, and they are a wonderful value for anyone looking to make a batch of creative cards.

Each of the kits has a stamp set, and each stamp is die cut, so there is no trimming! Just punch out the stamps and put them on the wooden blocks - super easy! Everything that you need is included in the kit, and the contents of each kit are listed in the Winter catalog. I have a picture of the Friendship Shapes kit posted here. Everything from the ribbon and cardstock to the inks, markers, and envelopes is included in the kit, as well as a set of detailed instructions for making each card, and all put into a gift box.

If you are looking for Christmas gifts, or have been eyeing some of the stamp sets included in the kit, or if you are looking to make twenty or thirty quick and easy cards, this is the time to buy. These kits very rarely go on sale. I've been stocking up on them myself this weekend!

So please email me if you would like to purchase any of the kits during this promotion. I will be placing an order Monday evening at 7pm, so please let me know by then if you are interested. :)

This is my newest creation. It's called a Criss Cross card. It is pretty easy to make, but you do need to use 12X12 cardstock for this one. The card doesn't open like a conventional one would, instead there is a pull out in the center of the card (with one of the rounded tab punches that I love) that slides in and out. I like this kind of card especially around the holidays because it is the perfect card for adding pictures of the family. It is a little more time consuming, but is nice for those close friends or family members that you want to send something a little special. Obviously this one wasn't done with Christmas papers, but check out SCS and you'll find all sorts of gorgeous examples of this card in the gallery made with our wonderful Christmas designer papers. Check out SCS under resources and 'criss cross card' for full directions (and step by step pictures!) on how to create these awesome cards!

So by now you have all probably been through your winter mini catalogs a hundred times (and for anybody that hasn't been able to see it, you can access it on stampinup.com or if you'd like your own free copy, please contact me!). This year, Stampin' Up! has branched out into designer wrapping papers, and they are beautiful! There are three different sets of wrapping paper, and I must say that after seeing them in person, I'm thinking that I need to get all of them. Not only do they make some beautifully wrapped packages under the tree, but they work really nicely as patterned papers for your cards (and you get them in bulk!) The papers are thinner than a patterned paper, but they feature the Stampin' Up! color palletes, so they coordinate wonderfully with our cardstock, ink, and ribbon colors. Here are some of the samples I've made with the wrapping paper. If you are looking to make a great amount of Christmas cards this year, and want a lot of patterned paper at an inexpensive price (2 rolls are $17.95) this could be a way to go!

Where do you get your ideas?

Hey everybody! I've been getting this question a lot lately: "Where do you get your ideas?" I get my ideas from a whole lot of different places. I get a lot of my ideas from the Stampin' Up! catalog, and from the Stampin' Up! website. There are always lots of wonderful ideas and color combinations to be found, and there are many ways to make the cards you see there into your very own creations. If I see a card that I like, I may use the colors, I may use different stamps to make it my own, or I might just recreate the entire thing! A really wonderful website that I have found, is called: www.splitcoaststampers.com There is an awesome gallery there with thousands of examples of cards made by many talented ladies (and a few gentlemen)! There is an alphabetical listing of every stamp set that Stampin' Up! has ever sold, and oftentimes hundreds of examples of cards that have been made using those stamp sets. It is an invaluable resource for inspiration, and for step by step instructions for all sorts of different kinds of projects and techniques! So for anyone who hasn't checked it out yet, I highly recommend that you take a look. There is truly something for everyone over there, and I check it every day (sometimes twice) :)

Check out this cute Thanksgiving card that I made using the scallop punch, oval punch, and the pick-a-petal stamp set. I got the instructions for making this turkey on Split Coast Stampers (we call it SCS for short) :)

Bleach Technique class - second sample

Hey all! So we have quite a few people signed up for the bleach class on the 26th, and I'm really looking forward to seeing you all. A lot of people brand new to the classes, so if you've never come to one, but have wanted to try it out, please join us! As promised, here is the second sample card that we will be making using bleach. And as always, we will also be spending lots of time just playing around with the bleach and getting the hang of the new techniques. RSVPs are not due until Monday the 24th, so there is still plenty of time. Can't wait to see you guys there!

More Stamp-a-Stack pictures

As promised, here are the pictures of the completed cards that you can mae with the Secret Garden Simply Scrapping kit. Again, a couple of the cards will have more than one of each style. You can click on the picture for a bigger image. I will have many different sentiment stamps available to use on these cards. I made most of these either 'Thank You's or 'Happy Birthday's because that is what I use the most of, but the great thing about this class, will be that you will be able to make whatever kind of cards you want with this, just change the greeting!

Holiday Stamp a Stack

I wanted everybody to be able to see exactly what we will be doing at the Stamp-a-Stack on October 6th, so here are some pictures. There will be 30 cards made (there are more than one style of several of the cards). For these cards, I used the Winter Bright Simply Scrapping kit, bashful blue ribbon, and white cardstock (for the card bases). I already have several RSVPs for this class, so if you are interested, please contact me before space runs out. For anyone who cannot make this class, but is still interested, I am planning on making up kits with all of the materials needed, and step-by-step instructions (with pictures) of exactly what you need to do. The only thing you would need to do these cards on your own (that isn't supplied in the kit) would be a 'Happy Holidays' or 'Merry Christmas' greetings stamp! If you would be interested in purchasing one of the kits, please contact me before September 15th, and let me know which kit you are choosing. We will only have time during this class to make one set of the cards, but anyone wishing to purchase both sets may do so (I have had a couple of people do so already). I will have pictures of the cards made using the Secret Garden Simply Scrapping kit coming up as well. I just need to stamp the greetings on them, and take photos. They turned out very nicely as well, and will make wonderful everyday cards. Remember this event will be held on Saturday, October 6th at 11am. The cost is $30 to make 30 cards, and the only thing you need to supply is adhesive! Please contact me if you are interested in either taking the class, or purchasing the kit by September 15th. Pre-payment is required and will also be due on the 15th! Thanks everyone!

New October Class

I have pictures ready of a new project class I'm holding on Sunday, October 14th. We will be making a scrapbook like project with room for pictures, memorabilia, journaling, lists, or anything you'd like. There are two different color palettes to choose from. The finished project shows the fall flowers designer papers being used. I also have pictures of my unembellished project using the second color choice - Darling Doodles designer papers. Each project has four pockets to use for tags, hidden journaling, envelopes, or more pictures. There are really endless possibilities as to what these can be used for! Please check out my official Stampin' Up! website events calendar for more details about this class.

Workshops Coming Up

Just a couple of quick notes about events coming up!

I will be uploading pictures of the bleach technique class projects in the next few days for everyone that is interested in coming.

I'm expecting my Simply Scrabooking kits on Thursday, and as soon as I can, will post pictures of the 30 (yes, 30) cards that we will be making with these kits at the Holiday Stamp-a-Stack.

I am expecting to post pictures tomorrow of a new project class I will be offering. It is a new mini scrapbook project with pockets that I've been working on. The class will be offered on October 14th.

For all details about the costs and the times and dates of any classes upcoming, please check my official Stampin' Up! website (there is a link at the top of this blog) in the upcoming events section. And as always, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
